MD5 Hash Generator
MD5 of anything.
Instantly.
Type text or choose a file and the MD5 hash appears instantly (alongside SHA-1, SHA-256 and others). Paste an expected MD5 to verify a file.
About MD5
MD5 produces a 128-bit (32 hex character) fingerprint of any input. It is still widely used for checksums — confirming that a download or backup copied correctly — because it is fast and every system supports it.
It is not safe for security: researchers can create two different files with the same MD5 hash. Use SHA-256 for anything where someone might tamper with the file deliberately, and never use MD5 to store passwords.
Why it matters that this runs locally
Many online developer tools send what you paste to a server — risky when it contains API keys, session tokens, customer data or proprietary code. This tool runs entirely in your browser: open your browser's Network tab and you will see that nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Frequently asked questions
- Is my data sent to a server?
- No. Everything runs in your browser, so tokens, keys, passwords and other sensitive data you paste never leave your device.
