How to rotate or flip an image
- Drop a photo into the box above.
- Press ↺ / ↻ to rotate 90°, or Flip horizontal / Flip vertical to mirror it.
- Press Save image.
Why photos appear sideways
Phones store photos as they come off the sensor and add an orientation tag telling apps how to display them. Some websites and older programs ignore that tag, so the photo shows sideways. Rotating here saves the pixels in the correct orientation, so the photo looks right everywhere.
Rotation without quality loss
Rotating by 90° or 180° and flipping only rearranges pixels — no detail is lost. The image is saved in its original format (JPG at high quality, PNG losslessly) at full resolution, and the old orientation tag is dropped so every app shows it the same way.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I mirror a selfie?
- Press Flip horizontal. Front cameras often save a mirrored image; flipping it makes text read the right way.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser, so your files never leave your device and nothing is stored on our servers. It even keeps working if you go offline after the page has loaded.
