Frequently asked questions
- How are words counted in languages without spaces?
- Words are found with your browser's built-in language rules (Intl.Segmenter), so Chinese, Japanese and Thai text is counted by real words rather than by spaces.
- How is reading time calculated?
- Reading time assumes 238 words per minute (the average silent reading speed for adults) and speaking time assumes 140 words per minute.
- What is the character limit on X, Instagram and LinkedIn?
- An X (Twitter) post allows 280 characters, an Instagram caption 2,200, a LinkedIn post 3,000 and a meta description about 155–160 for full display in Google.
- Is my text sent anywhere?
- No. Everything runs in your browser, so what you type or paste never leaves your device.
