Estimates assume a constant return compounded monthly. Market-linked returns vary and are not guaranteed; this is not investment advice.

Enter your monthly SIP amount, expected annual return and time period to see the estimated value, total invested and estimated returns. Add an annual step-up to model increasing your SIP each year, or switch to Lump sum.

How to calculate SIP returns

  1. Enter the monthly investment.
  2. Enter the expected annual return (e.g. 12%).
  3. Set the time period in years and, optionally, a yearly step-up.
  4. Read the estimated value and the year-by-year growth.

SIP vs lump sum

A SIP invests the same amount every month, so you buy more units when prices are low and fewer when high (rupee-cost averaging). A lump sum invests everything at once — it can grow more if markets rise steadily, but carries more timing risk. Switch between the two above to compare.

Frequently asked questions

How is the SIP value calculated?
Each monthly instalment is invested at the start of the month and grows at the monthly rate (annual return ÷ 12). ₹10,000 a month at 12% for 10 years invests ₹12 lakh and grows to about ₹23.2 lakh.
What is a step-up SIP?
A SIP whose instalment increases by a fixed percentage every year, usually in line with salary growth. Even a 10% step-up significantly increases the final value.
Are these returns guaranteed?
No. Mutual fund returns depend on markets and vary year to year. The calculator assumes a constant return to give an estimate; it is not investment advice.
