Why it matters that this runs locally

Many online developer tools send what you paste to a server — risky when it contains API keys, session tokens, customer data or proprietary code. This tool runs entirely in your browser: open your browser's Network tab and you will see that nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Should I use UUID v4 or v7?
v4 is fully random and the most widely supported. v7 starts with a timestamp, so new IDs sort after older ones — better for database primary keys because inserts stay in index order.
Can two UUIDs collide?
In practice, no: a v4 UUID has 122 random bits, so you would need to generate billions per second for decades before a collision became likely.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. Everything runs in your browser, so tokens, keys, passwords and other sensitive data you paste never leave your device.
